Its full-metal aluminum housing, classic silver finish and left- or right-handed configuration support deliberate camera-like handling, while Bluetooth 5.0 LE, USB-C charging and a battery rated for approximately 1,000 pictures keep the grip ready for extended mobile photography. It attaches to iPhone 12 and later using MagSafe technology.1
Key Features
Mechanical Two-Stage Shutter and Physical Controls
The Leica 18841-L gives the shutter release deliberate mechanical feedback, while the settings dial and two assignable FN buttons place frequently used adjustments under the photographer's fingers. The layout supports both quick, spontaneous frames and slower still-life composition without making every change through touchscreen controls.
MagSafe Mounting for Either Hand
The grip attaches magnetically to a compatible iPhone or MagSafe case, eliminating the need for a dedicated phone-specific clamp. Its conversion option allows left- or right-handed setup, so the camera-style controls can be positioned for the photographer's preferred hand. This MagSafe technology also makes the grip easy to attach and remove.
Modular construction is designed to keep the Leica LUX Grip useful across multiple MagSafe-compatible iPhone generations rather than relying on a dedicated shell for one phone model.
Leica LUX App Creative Control
The Leica LUX app adds manual adjustment of exposure, ISO and shutter speed, plus Leica Looks and rendering effects inspired by Summilux-M and Noctilux-M lenses. The Leica 18841-L operates only through the Leica LUX app and cannot control the pre-installed iPhone Camera app.2
12 Months of Leica LUX Pro
After the grip is registered to a Leica account, the included offer provides 12 months of Leica LUX Pro access.3 This connects the physical grip with the Pro version of the app for an integrated hardware-and-software shooting system.
Approximately 1,000 Pictures Per Charge
The internal 300 mAh lithium-ion battery is rated for approximately 1,000 pictures, supporting extended mobile photo sessions between charges. A full recharge takes about 2 hours through USB-C, and a USB-C to USB-C charging cable is included.
Full-Metal Silver Aluminum Housing
A full-metal aluminum body gives the Leica LUX Grip a durable camera-like feel in Leica's classic silver finish. At approximately 130 g including the battery, the housing adds a substantial physical control surface while retaining the magnetic smartphone format.
Bluetooth 5.0 LE, IP54 and Tripod Support
Bluetooth 5.0 LE provides the wireless control connection for the grip-and-app workflow, while the IP54 rating supplies the published level of ingress protection. A built-in tripod mount gives photographers a physical attachment point for supported tripod setups when a steadier composition is needed.
Features
Mechanical Two-Stage Shutter Button
Provides tactile camera-style release control for deliberate timing.
Settings Dial
Places an important shooting adjustment on a physical control for faster operation.
Two Programmable FN Buttons
Assigns frequently used functions for a personalized control layout.
MagSafe Mounting
Uses magnetic attachment instead of a dedicated phone-specific clamp.
Left- or Right-Handed Configuration
Converts for operation with either hand.
Modular Construction
Supports continued use across multiple MagSafe-compatible iPhone generations.
Bluetooth 5.0 LE
Connects the grip wirelessly with the phone and Leica LUX app workflow.
Approximately 1,000-Picture Battery
The 300 mAh battery recharges through USB-C in about 2 hours.
Full-Metal Aluminum Housing
Combines a camera-like feel with an approximate weight of 130 g including the battery.
Tripod Mount
Provides a physical attachment point for supported tripod use.
IP54 Rating
Delivers the published level of ingress protection.
Leica LUX App Integration
Adds manual exposure, ISO and shutter speed controls, Leica Looks and lens-inspired rendering effects.
12 Months of Leica LUX Pro
Registration to a Leica account activates the complimentary Pro access period.3
Classic Silver Finish
Brings Leica's traditional silver colorway to the LUX Grip design.
Footnotes
1 Compatibility applies to iPhone 12 and later using MagSafe technology; technical specifications also include iPhones with MagSafe technology or a MagSafe case.
2 The grip requires the Leica LUX app and does not operate the pre-installed Apple iPhone Camera app.
3 Complimentary 12-month Leica LUX Pro access requires purchase and registration of a Leica LUX Grip to a Leica account.
California customers
Proposition 65 WARNING
WARNING: Cancer and Reproductive Harm

Specifications
General
Color
Silver
Type
MagSafe Camera Grip
In the Box
1 x Leica LUX Silver Grip, 1 x USB-C To USB-C Charging Cable, 1 x Quick-Start Guide
Compatibility
Apple iPhone 12
Yes
Apple iPhone 12 mini
Yes
Apple iPhone 12 Pro
Yes
Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max
Yes
Apple iPhone 13 mini
Yes
Apple iPhone 13
Yes
Apple iPhone 13 Pro
Yes
Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max
Yes
Apple iPhone 14
Yes
Apple iPhone 14 Pro
Yes
Apple iPhone 14 Plus
Yes
Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max
Yes
Apple iPhone 15
Yes
Apple iPhone 15 Plus
Yes
Apple iPhone 15 Pro
Yes
Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max
Yes
Apple iPhone 16
Yes
Apple iPhone 16 Plus
Yes
Apple iPhone 16 Pro
Yes
Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max
Yes
Apple iPhone 17
Yes
Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max
Yes
Apple iPhone Air
Yes
Warranty Information
Parts Warranty
2 Years Limited
Labor Warranty
2 Years Limited
Approximate Weight
Package Weight (lbs)
0.29

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0716/3808/9877/files/leica-iphone-accessories-18841-L-front.jpg?v=1792515002
